Broward County Human Services Department

Broward County Human Services Department through its Community Partnerships Division (CPD) and Office of Evaluation and Planning’s Grants Team (GT) provides a variety of resources to Broward County nonprofit agencies holding a 501c3 and identified as active in the State of Florida. Information workshops are offered by CPD for agencies interested in applying for funding to provide direct and supportive social services in the areas of homelessness, children’s services and health care. Grant-related skills trainings provided by the GT and offered at no cost include “Grantwriting Basics” and “Collaborative Grants Development”. Broward County Office of of Economic and Small Business Development

The Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) supports Broward County businesses and their success by providing a comprehensive roster of client-focused services. Technical assistance is available to local businesses in a range of topics from information on current public procurement opportunities to financing.  www.broward.org/econdev

Broward SCORE

SCORE | Broward is an active chapter for the national SCORE system and has more than 50 volunteers. The mentors are experienced business owners and managers who volunteer their experience and knowledge to help small businesses and potential small businesses achieve success. Children’s Services Council of Broward County’s Capacity Building Resources

Established by the voters as a special independent taxing authority in 2000, the Children’s Services Council of Broward County’s (CSC) mission is to provide the leadership, advocacy and resources necessary to enhance the lives of children and empower them to become responsible, productive adults. In support of our mission, CSC is committed to improving the business function and organizational infrastructure of local child and family serving nonprofits by providing capacity building opportunities including: training, project funding, business consulting, fundraising coaching, technical assistance, networking and resource connection to increase their ability to deliver stronger and more enduring programs in our communities. FAU – School of Public Administration

The School of Public Administration at Florida Atlantic University offers a graduate program leading to the Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM) degree.  The MNM is housed in the School of Public Administration, which is part of the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters.  The mission of the Masters of Nonprofit Management program is to prepare leaders of mission-driven organizations to excel in their professions and disciplines and to provide the critical, analytical, managerial, and operational education necessary to inform theory and practice of effective service delivery in a nonprofit environment.

FSU, Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship

The Jim Moran Institute’s South Florida Division was launched 2009 with the mission to provide direct assistance to entrepreneurs and nonprofit CEOs in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. Our services are available to for-profit and non-profit businesses and are geared toward CEOs, entrepreneurs, business owners, and presidents of small businesses. Companies usually have been established for at least three years and, more often have been in business more than five years and have three or more employees. Our Small Business Executive Program and Nonprofit Executive Program are offered at no cost to the participant. Apply today!
